1. General information
To provide students with the knowledge and practical experience that will enable them to organize sports activities in different areas of their future professional work, emphasizing the importance of quality in the organization and developing leadership and collaboration in work teams. The professional practice of the future graduate in Sciences of the Physical Activity and Sport is diverse, but many professional opportunities have a common point, the organization of sports activities, either as the main axis of its activity or on an ad hoc basis. This is aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3: Health and Wellness. Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities.
Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption It is necessary to have a predisposition to work in a group with colleagues for the design of a sports organization project.
2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:
- Planning, organizing and executing an activity, event or sports program.
- Apply quality control and evaluation instruments in a sport activity, event or program.
- Use leadership and collaboration tools to manage people and organize work teams.
- Prepare a report on the organization of an activity, event or sports program.
3. Syllabus
The development of the subejct will be based on the following contents:
CONTEXT OF PLANNING SPORTS ACTIVITIES. Definition of sports activities, regulations, permits.
PLANNING OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES. Phases in the planning and development of activities and events sports, organizational areas, labor legislation and volunteering.
RISK MANAGEMENT IN SPORTS ACTIVITIES. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSURANCE.
CONTROL AND EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF THE ORGANIZATION OF A SPORTS ACTIVITY
LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION TOOLS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PEOPLE AND WORK TEAMS.
THE REPORT OF A SPORTING EVENT OR ACTIVITY.
4. Academic activities
The teaching-learning methods used in the subject are the participative master class (brainstorming, discussion groups, examples and resolution of practical proposals), case studies, the carrying out of an organisation project (directed by the teacher), practical teaching (participating in the organisation of a sporting event) and independent work. Students will use their independent work time for the elaboration of class notes and their study , reading of the recommended bibliography, carrying out small individual works and the realization of the project oforganization of a sport activity.
5. Assessment system
Global assessment test
1. Final objective test, carried out individually, where there will be simulations of practical cases and multiple-choice questions. The final value of this test out of the total will be 30%.
2. Group/individual work project. In this work, the theoretical contents of the subject will be applied in the planning, organization, development and evaluation of a sport activity or event. The final value of this test out of the totalwill be 50%.
3. Individual work: the student must independently collect the evaluation of 1 sporting event that he/she has attended , objectively evaluating the development of the same and including various proposals for improvement, adjusting to the specific rules of this work that will be published in the Digital Teaching Ring of the subject. The final value of this test out of the total will be 20%.
In order to pass the subject it will be necessary to pass each of the 3 tests.
In all the evaluation tests, spelling mistakes found in the different documents will be penalized, deducting up to 0.3 points for each one of them.
Fraud or total or partial plagiarism in any of the evaluation tests will result in not passing the subject with the minimum grade, in addition to the disciplinary sanctions adopted by the Guarantee Committee for these cases.
